Who is excited to travel to Uganda? We have so many students interested in our programs, which is amazing! But, not surprisingly, one of the biggest questions we get asked is how to find funding for study abroad programs. Traveling is truly amazing, but it can be expensive for college students (trust me we’ve been there!). So, without further ado, here are 8 ways to fund your study abroad.
This institution awards over $2 million to students studying abroad every year. They have different scholarships for different areas of study, regions, universities, and final destinations. Check out the scholarships you are eligible to receive!
This $3000 scholarship is awarded to women in any year of their undergraduate studies. The deadline is December 31, 2019 – so get applying today!
$1000 toward your study abroad experience and a Tortuga Backpack. Must be a U.S. citizen, an undergraduate student, and have applied or been accepted to a study abroad program through your university to apply.
4. Your College Study Abroad Office
Almost every university and college has specific scholarships set aside for students that want to study abroad. Talk to your study abroad coordinator today!
5. Your Advisors and Professors
Many departments and majors have their own scholarship funds set aside for students. I received scholarship money through my business department while in school, so it’s definitely worth asking!
6. Other Scholarship Resources
When traveling with KinoSol, financial aid can apply to your study abroad trip! So don’t be afraid to apply for other scholarships because they carry over! Websites like Fastweb, Scholarships.com, and CollegeNet.com are also options to apply.
7. Local Organizations
Many local clubs and companies are more than willing to provide funding for students hoping to travel abroad. Talking to your local rotary club or Kiwanis may just score you some extra funding. It never hurts to ask!
8. Family and Friends
I know this is the last resort for many people. But instead of Christmas gifts or birthday presents, ask for funding for your study abroad trip. While you may not get the newest pair of Airpods, you will be able to fund an unforgettable experience.
